Know The Airlines, Departure And Arrival Terminals In Lagos Airports By Ayodeji Awokunmi
It will interest you to know that airlines in Nigeria do not specify in their ticket coupon operating terminals for their various routes.
Domestic airlines in Lagos operate from two major terminals i.e. Murtala Mohammed 1, MM1 or General Aviation Terminal otherwise known as GAT and Murtala Mohammed 2 also known as MM2.
Often times, passengers find it difficult to identify which airline operates from which terminal. It is expedient to educate the general public on the terminal in which these airlines operate especially their departure and arrival terminals. This will save passengers the embarrassment of going to the wrong terminal.
GAT/MM1 and MM2 is about 10 minutes walking distance from one another. This 10minutes distance can mar passenger’s journey if one finds himself in the wrong terminal.
It will interest you to know that airlines in Nigeria do not specify in their ticket coupon operating terminals for their various routes.
It is also very important for the public to know that the emphasis is on local airlines operating in Lagos.
General Aviation Terminal (GAT) has two wings i.e. A: Apha Hall and Z: Zulu Hall. Apha hall is majorly dominated by Arik Airline jointly used by Air Peace Airline, Overland Airways, ValueJet Airline and Green Africa Airways while Zulu hall is dominated by Air Peace Airline.
Arik Airline and Air Peace which are the most popular domestic airlines operate from GAT and MM2. There are other domestic airlines in Nigeria operating from these two major terminals in Lagos.
The table below shows the list of local airlines, their arrival and departure terminals in Lagos.

I hope this short write up will serve as a guide and also proffer solution to the lingering hurdles that passengers traveling from the local wings of Lagos terminals often face. The article is also subject to review based on the airlines operational changes.
My recently published article on the importance of online check-in generated a lot of positive feedbacks from the public. The number of passengers who now have the knowledge of online check-in has greatly increased.
Direction to the two terminals: To link GAT coming from Ikeja immediately after AP filling station, go straight after the traffic light by skyline hotel, do not make any turning. To link MM2 from Ikeja, after AP filling station, make a turn towards Airforce base, drive down a bit, immediately after Arik headquarters you will see MM2 by the next roundabout.
